JUL/28/09 - During rush-hour two Indigenous Canadian women, working with the Rainforrest Action Network, scaled flagpoles in front of Royal Bank of Canada’s (RBC’s) headquarters in Toronto. They dropped a 50 foot banner reading “Please Help Us Mrs. Nixon.com”, an appeal to Mrs. Janet Nixon, wife of RBC CEO Gordon Nixon, asking her to lend her voice to those fighting to protect Canada’s clean water and respect Indigenous rights by pushing RBC to end its investments in Alberta tar sands projects.
